What does optional visitor analytics count?
If you accept analytics, this site counts page views, visits from new or returning browsers, daily browser visits and referring website names. It keeps daily totals, rather than a list of people or individual browsing histories. A returning browser is an estimate, not proof of who a person is. Clearing cookies or using another browser changes the count.
The companion’s aggregate statistics do not keep your name, email address, full IP address, browser user-agent, cookie value or individual event history. They do not receive your calculator figures, quiz answers, scenario decisions or feedback-note text. For optional visitor analytics, referring websites are reduced to their hostname. Their full page address, search terms and query values are not stored.
After you accept analytics, the server briefly uses the request IP address to estimate a country with a local lookup database. It adds that country to a separate daily total; it does not save the IP address in the analytics database or call an external geolocation service. Country estimates can be wrong, especially with VPNs. Country data: IP Geolocation by DB-IP, available under CC BY 4.0.
There is no advertising tracker and no visitor account. Analytics requests stay on this website; this analytics feature does not send your visits to Google Analytics or a similar third-party service.
What does the resource counter count?
The download buttons use a separate counter. It saves only the day, the file and the total number of requests for that file. It does not read or set cookies, check your analytics choice, or record an IP address, user-agent, referring website or visitor identifier. It works when JavaScript is disabled and when you reject optional visitor analytics.
This helps us see which resources people request. It does not tell us who downloaded a file or whether the download finished. Repeated requests and automated requests can affect the totals. Direct links to the static files can bypass this counter, so it is not a complete record of every download. The resource totals are reported separately from consenting-browser visits.
You can use the documents without accepting analytics or creating an account. The short note beside the downloads explains how to use the teaching examples; it is not a cookie-consent form.
Which cookies are used?
| Cookie | Purpose | When it is used | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
__Host-chaplabo_choice | Remembers whether you accept or reject analytics. This is a necessary preference cookie. | After you make a choice. | 180 days. |
__Host-chaplabo_visit | Helps count a browser as new or returning, and avoids counting every page as a new visit. A visit ends after 30 minutes of inactivity. | Only after you accept analytics. | 90 days. |
These are first-party cookies restricted to this website. The browser sends them only over HTTPS. They are not available to page scripts. No analytics cookie is created before you accept.
How long are the totals kept?
The private statistics database uses a 180-day retention window for daily visitor and resource totals. Older totals are removed on the next accepted visitor analytics request, counted download request, or private maintenance or report run. If the site is inactive, cleanup takes place on that next run. The database is held outside the public website folder and is not a public download. There is no daily visitor database email.
What stays in your browser?
The learning tools separately save completed lesson IDs, quiz attempts and completed scenario names in your browser’s local storage, under channel-playbook-learning-v1. This lets you use the progress feature. That learning record is not sent to our analytics database. Analytics consent does not control or erase it.
You can export or reset your learning progress on the learning page. Clearing browser data also removes it. Calculator entries and feedback-note text are not submitted by these tools. Downloaded files stay wherever you choose to save them.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. Open and choose Reject analytics. This stops new visitor analytics requests and removes the analytics cookie. We keep the necessary cookie to remember your rejection. You can accept again later. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that already happened. Daily totals cannot identify which numbers came from your browser, so we cannot reliably remove one person’s contribution from those totals. The separate cookie-free resource counter continues to count file requests without identifying you.
You can also delete cookies in your browser. The site will ask again because it no longer knows your choice. If JavaScript is disabled, optional visitor analytics does not run and public reading and downloads remain available.
Hosting and normal web requests
Name.com provides the hosting. Like any website, this server receives an IP address and request information to deliver a page and protect the service. Hosting security and access logs are separate from the companion’s aggregate statistics. Those logs may contain IP addresses and requested addresses. This notice does not claim that all hosting logs are turned off.
The hosting provider may process data outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Its contractual data-protection terms and transfer safeguards apply where required. See Name.com’s privacy notice for provider information.
Your rights and questions
We use your consent for optional visitor analytics. We remember your privacy choice so that we can honour it. The browser-local learning record supports the progress feature you use. For the cookie-free resource counter, we rely on our legitimate interests in understanding resource use and keeping useful materials available. It keeps only daily file-request totals, without a record for each person. We rely on our legitimate interests to deliver the website and protect it against misuse for necessary hosting and security processing.
For questions or a request about your personal data, contact info@euragnos.com. Depending on the processing, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal data, restrict processing, object, request portability and withdraw consent. We may need enough information to identify a record before we can act on a request. Do not send confidential customer information.
You can complain to your local data-protection authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
